Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No, Ascent Tahoe is an out of network facility and it is not necessary to have a referral. If you have already seen a doctor and received a referral please feel free to bring it in or have it faxed to our office. We are happy to be in touch with the referring doctor throughout your rehab.

Is physical therapy helpful if I am not currently injured?

Yes, physical therapy can be and should be used as injury prevention as well as rehabilitation. We love working with uninjured and healthy individuals to prevent new or further injury. Come in and get stronger with us!

What can a physical therapist treat?

What is a cash-based/ Out-of-network physical therapy practice?

A cash-based/ Out-of-Network PT clinic operates outside of traditional insurance networks. Patients pay directly for services at the time of care, allowing for more personalized and flexible treatment without insurance restrictions.

Will I need fewer visits with out-of-network therapy?

Often yes. Our one-on-one care allows for more efficient, effective treatment, meaning you may achieve results in fewer visits compared to clinics that split time between multiple patients.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

What is a superbill and how do I use it?

A superbill is a detailed invoice that includes treatment codes and provider information. You can submit this to your insurance company to request reimbursement if your plan offers out-of-network benefits.
